Rosemarie P. Rafael, the Founder and Chairperson of Airspeed Group, a leading logistics company in the Philippines, has grown it into a diversified enterprise providing end-to-end solutions in international and domestic freight forwarding, e-commerce fulfillment, and supply chain management.
A pioneer in logistics, Ms. Rafael became the first woman President of the Air Cargo Forwarders Association of the Philippines (ACFAP) in 1996. Her leadership and passion for inclusive growth earned her prestigious recognitions, including Woman Entrepreneur of the Year at the ASEAN Business Awards, Global Filipino Executive of the Year (Circle of Excellence) at the Asia CEO Awards, and the APEC Best Award for Best Business in Tackling the Pandemic. In 2023, she was named one of the Global FWN100’s Most Influential Filipina Women in the World, under the Founder Award category.Ms. Rafael serves as Chairperson and President of the AIC Group of Companies, including subsidiaries like Airspeed Express, Linex Corporation, 1Sycamore Food Ventures Inc., and APDEC. She also serves as a Board Director at APDEC.
Her leadership extends to advocacy organizations, where she’s the Director and Treasurer of ARISE Philippines and the Chairperson of AWEN Philippines. She’s also a Commissioner for Labor at the Philippine Commission on Women and Co-Chairperson of the PH-Vietnam Trade Lane under PCCI.An alumna of Maryknoll College (AB in International Studies), Ms. Rafael earned a Master of Business Administration from Ateneo de Manila University and the Management Development Program from the Asian Institute of Management.
Her career began with Thai International Airlines Ltd. and LEP International Pty. Ltd., where she gained valuable experience in airline operations and airfreight sales before venturing into entrepreneurship.Across her four decades in business, Rosemarie Rafael has remained steadfast in her purpose—to empower people, especially women, to rise above challenges and thrive with integrity, consistency, and excellence. Her leadership continues to propel industries forward and inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs to drive progress for the nation.
