About me
Woman. Leader. Advocate. These are essence that have long been ingrained to Lumina’s character. Growing up in a farming community in Buguias, Benguet province and coming from humble beginnings, the values of hard work, perseverance and “malasakit” are the foundation of the success that Lumina has achieved.
As part owner and finance manager of AIP Construction, she has helped the company grow into what it is today – one of the most sought-after construction firms in Northern Luzon, specializing in roads and bridges. It’s Lumina’s initiatives and leadership, more women are now employed in the company in positions that traditionally were men’s exclusive domain.
One advocacy leads to another, her company as her community is now benefiting from several programs the aims to uplift and help her employees especially the wives who stays home. Lumina thought that there could be a way for a family to have two incomes. She encouraged her employees to avail the interest-free loans for livelihood projects which their spouses could manage at home, such as backyard hog raising, poultry, sari-sari stores and karinderia. These interest-free loan can also be used for tuition fees, medical needs and home improvement.
In Baguio City where Lumina and her husband Arnel have established a home for more than twenty years now, she has always strived to help people who are in dire need.
Sharing blessing – be it small or big – is a responsibility that her parents have inculcated in her at a young age.
