SUMMARY:SUMMIT Day 3 (5) Pinay Talks: Ellen Samson: AI & Tech Tools: productivity\, creativity\, reskilling\, and emotional intelligence
DESCRIPTION:Pinay Talks: Extraordinary Voices: Using Tech to Solve Global Crises\n\nAI & Tech Tools: productivity\, creativity\, reskilling\, and emotional intelligence\n\nIn this 8-minute talk\, I will explore how AI and technology are reshaping careers and leadership\nopportunities for Filipina women\, focusing on how tools like GPTs\, such as those I created—Dr. Martin\, Dr.\nCarey\, and Manny—enhance productivity and streamline complex tasks. I will also highlight the vital role of\nExecutive Virtual Assistants (EVAs)\, show how they complement AI to handle tasks requiring human\ninsight\, creativity\, and emotional intelligence.\n\nThe talk emphasizes the importance of reskilling and staying organized through tech tools like Asana\, Calendly\, Co-Pilot\, and ChatGPT\, while inspiring Filipina women to embrace these innovations for leadership and entrepreneurship. With a lighthearted tone\, memorable quotes\, and actionable takeaways\, this presentation encourages women to harness both AI and human support to thrive in a fast-paced world.

SUMMARY:SUMMIT Day 3 (6) Pinay Talks: April Joy Using Tech to Solve Global Crises
DESCRIPTION:Pinay Talks: Extraordinary Voices: Using Tech to Solve Global Crises\n\nIn July 2020\, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and moral reckoning with structural racism after the murder of George Floyd\, I was selected to become the head of the Weitzman Institute\, which made me the first Filipina and first person of color to oversee the Institute since its inception. My talk will highlight three examples of how I worked with my team to leverage technology during the global public health emergency including 1) Transitioning our fully in-person care to being fully remote via telehealth for over 150\,000 patients in Connecticut (USA)\, 2) Combating misinformation about COVID-19 through free webinars for &gt\;25\,000 healthcare professionals across all 50 U.S. states on how to continue to deliver care and keep their patients and themselves safe during the pandemic\, and 3) recruiting and diversifying the workforce by leveraging remote work environment.

His spy novels are off the charts\, and they even made some killer movies and shows out of them. So\, in the world of IT\, the big problem is that tech people and business folks aren't on the same page. They're not facing the real challenges together and figuring out how to use tech to solve 'em. It's like what Steven Spielberg said back in '95 when he got that AFI award - making something truly great means having a deep personal connection or experience with it. That's what helps create awesome stuff like killer products\, innovative software\, slick designs\, and solving tricky business and customer problems. \n\nRemember that scene in the movie where the manager says\, "I'm gonna go check out this situation for myself?" Yeah\, that's the move. Instead of just conference calls from the US\, he jets off to Japan to get the lowdown in person.
